But, these benefits do not come free.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/amazon-fba-guide\/\">FBA member,<\/a> you\u2019ll have to pay a monthly fee. That\u2019s not all. You\u2019ll also have to pay Amazon for all your products in its warehouses. How do you do that? It\u2019s actually quite simple. All you need to do is create a removal order on Amazon. You have two options:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Closing a listing: <\/strong>This means that you are only removing the product from the storefront. After closing a listing, it will be tagged as \u2018inactive\u2019 on the inventory page. The sales history, product information, and the stock-keeping unit (SKU) of the listing will still be available. The listing can be reactivated at any time.<br>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deleting a listing:<\/strong> When you delete a product listing, its associated sales history, product information, and SKU are permanently deleted from the seller account. You won\u2019t be able to find the product on your \u2018inventory\u2019 page. Sales data on the accounting pages will still be available. You should only delete a listing if you are 100% sure that you are not going to sell that product again in the future. You only have 24 hours to reactivate a deleted listing.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can follow these steps to close or delete your listings:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to Amazon Seller Central and open the \u201c<strong>Inventory<\/strong>\u201d tab.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Manage Inventory<\/strong>\u201d to get a list of all the product listings active on the storefront.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the relevant listings, click on the \u201c<strong>Actions<\/strong>\u201d button. You can select multiple products at the same time.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Depending on how you want to remove the listing, you can either choose \u201c<strong>Close Listing<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c<strong>Delete Product and Listing.<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to relist an item that has been closed or removed, you can follow these steps: <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the inventory management page and click the \u201c<strong>Inactive<\/strong>\u201d link.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Actions<\/strong>\u201d next to the item and click \u201c<strong>Relist<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><em>If the listing was deleted over 24 hours ago, you cannot relist the product. The listing has to be manually added again.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have closed or deleted the relevant product listings, you can move on to removing your inventory from Amazon fulfillment centers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"rank-math-faq\" class=\"rank-math-block\">\n<div class=\"rank-math-list \">\n<div id=\"faq-question-1638473692246\" class=\"rank-math-list-item\">\n<h3 class=\"rank-math-question \">How to remove inventory from Amazon FBA <\/h3>\n<div class=\"rank-math-answer \">\n\n<p>Returning or disposing of your products from Amazon FBA centers isn\u2019t free. If the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/how-to-price-right-to-win-the-buy-box\/\">item is not selling,<\/a> it might still be worthwhile to avoid long-term storage fees. You can request for disposal, return, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/how-to-liquidate-excess-inventory-on-amazon\/\">liquidation of your inventory<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Why would you want to remove inventory from Amazon FBA centers?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if a product is not subject to long-term storage fees, it still costs you money if it\u2019s at an Amazon warehouse. If your product sales can\u2019t cover these costs, it\u2019s advisable to take down the listing and remove the product from FBA centers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how you can do it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Create a removal order<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two ways to <a href=\"https:\/\/sellercentral.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/help.html?itemID=201436560\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">create a removal order.<\/a> You can do this from the \u201c<strong>Manage Inventory\u201d<\/strong> page or from the \u201c<strong>Recommended Removal\u201d <\/strong>report. The recommended removal report only includes inventory that will be subject to long-term storage fees. Through the Manage Inventory page, you can remove the inventory for any listing. Here\u2019s how you can remove inventory using either method:\u00a0On the \u201c<strong>Manage Inventory\u201d <\/strong>page, select the relevant items. Select the \u201c<strong>Action\u201d<\/strong> drop-down list and pick the \u201c<strong>Create Removal Order.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the \u201c<strong>Recommended Removal report<\/strong>,\u201d choose the \u201c<strong>Begin Removal Process<\/strong>\u201d<strong> <\/strong>option. You cannot use this option if you do not have inventory that qualifies for long-term storage fees. If the recommended removal list has more than one page, you\u2019ll have to create a separate removal order for each page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have begun the removal process, you have three choices.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dispose: <\/strong>You can have Amazon dispose of the products. You will be charged a nominal fee for each item disposed of.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Return: <\/strong>Amazon will also deliver all the chosen items to a selected address. This is more expensive than disposing of the product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A product under a removal order cannot be used to fulfill customer orders. It cannot be shipped to any other fulfillment center either.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Add address and order ID<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have chosen the return option, you will need to add the address to which the products will be delivered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No matter what you choose to do with the inventory, you need to enter a custom or random order ID. If you leave it blank, an order ID will be automatically generated. Make sure you save the order ID. It can be used to track the removal order.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Specify ordered SKUs\/units<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to add more items to this list, you can search for the product using its title, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/amazon-listing-quality-check.html\">ASIN,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/amazon-fnsku-guide\/\">FNSKU<\/a>, or MSKU. Add the relevant details into the \u201c<strong>Search and Add Items<\/strong>\u201d box and hit Search. Choose the products to be removed, and click the \u201c<strong>Add Selected\u201d <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Add quantities to be removed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you need to mention the number of fulfillable and unfulfillable items to be removed. This quantity cannot be greater than the total quantity available for removal. Once you\u2019ve done that, you need to review the total inventory \u2014 both available and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/amazon-unavailable-balances\/\">unavailable<\/a> for removal.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Review removal order<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you\u2019ve added all the necessary details, you need to review your removal order. Check the order ID, method of removal, ship-to address, and the details of the selected items for removal. If you need to change contact details or return address, you just need to select the \u201c<strong>Change<\/strong>\u201d option. You can also see how much the order will cost you under the \u201c<strong>Estimated Fees<\/strong>\u201d option.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Click confirm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After review, you have the option to confirm the removal order or cancel it. Usually, the order is processed within <strong>10 to 14 days<\/strong> after you confirm your order. However, it can take up to 30 business days, especially during the peak removal times, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/amazon-prime-day-2020\/\">holiday season.<\/a>\u00a0 <strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the removal order has been submitted, the carrier may try to contact you to organize a specific delivery time. If you are unavailable or cannot accept the delivery, Amazon assumes that the ship-to-address is incorrect. For items weighing over 1 lb, shipping weight is calculated by rounding up to the nearest whole pound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special handling items may include apparel, shoes, watches, jewelry, or dangerous goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4\">Canceling a removal order<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A removal order can be canceled only if its status is either \u201c<strong>Pending\u201d <\/strong>or<strong> \u201cPlanning.\u201d<\/strong> If your removal order is in the \u201c<strong>Processing<\/strong>\u201d status, it cannot be canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to do to cancel the order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From the \u201c<strong>Manage Orders<\/strong>\u201d page, select the \u201c<strong>Advanced Search\u201d <\/strong>option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the drop-down list, choose \u201c<strong>Order ID.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in the order ID of your removal order and click the \u201c<strong>Search<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under \u201c<strong>Action<\/strong>,\u201d\u00a0 select \u201c<strong>Cancel This Order<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5\">Automating removal orders on Amazon FBA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also automate the removal process for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/amazon-fba-errors\/\">unfulfillable items<\/a> and products subject to long-term storage fees. If you set up automated removals by the 15th of each month, that inventory won\u2019t be charged storage fees. This is because Amazon takes stock of inventory on warehouses on the 15th of every month.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What is an unfulfillable product?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever Amazon deems that a product is not in a sellable condition, its status is changed to <strong>Unfulfillable<\/strong>. Amazon notifies you whenever a product becomes unsellable. If you do not create a removal order for unsellable inventory within 30 days of Amazon notification, it is likely to be automatically disposed of.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can follow these steps to automatically remove unfulfillable products from your inventory.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the \u201c<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u201d menu of your Seller Central account, click<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerapp.com\/blog\/fba-amazon\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5611\"> Fulfillment by Amazon<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Automated Unfulfillable Removal Settings<\/strong>,\u201d and click \u201c<strong>Edit<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Enable<\/strong> and select one of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Return:<\/strong> to have unsellable inventory returned to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dispose:<\/strong> to have unsellable inventory disposed of.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a schedule:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Immediate (only available for dispose option)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weekly\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twice a month<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the \u201c<strong>Email Address<\/strong>\u201d text box, enter your preferred <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neo.space\/blog\/how-to-create-free-professional-business-email-without-domain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">email address<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you selected <strong>Return<\/strong>, provide the address and phone number for the delivery destination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, you can also automate removal orders for inventory subject to long-term storage fees. Just navigate to \u201c<strong>Automated Long-Term Storage Removals Settings<\/strong>\u201d on the \u201c<strong>Fulfillment by Amazon Settings\u201d<\/strong> page. In this case, you also have the option to set the price range of the products you want to remove. In the <strong>Disposal\/Return settings<\/strong> section, do one or both of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select <strong>Dispose. <\/strong>Enter the lowest and highest value for the items that you want to have disposed of.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Return. <\/strong>Enter the lowest and highest value for the items that you want to return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Items that cost more or less than the price range will remain in your inventory and will be charged the long-term storage fee. Items within the designated price range will be marked for removal.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6\">Checking the cost of a removal order<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be charged for removal only after your inventory is disposed of or shipped. You can verify the costs related to your removal order on the \u201c<strong>Payments<\/strong>\u201d<strong> <\/strong>report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to keep tabs on how much removal orders cost you, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under \u201c<strong>Payments<\/strong>,\u201d click on the tab named \u201c<strong>Transaction<\/strong> <strong>View<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Service Fees<\/strong>\u201d and select the date range.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \u201c<strong>Update.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under \u201c<strong>Product Details<\/strong>,\u201d look for transactions labeled \u201c<strong>FBA Removal Order<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7\">Final thoughts\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, taking a product off the shelves is the right call.
